The Preliminary 1D was won by Tenille Hay riding her lovely ASH Ibn Abdul with Tanya Rutter and Artistry runners up.
Jenny then saddled up Country Vision for runner up in the Novice 2A and a win in the Novice 2D. Tenille and Ibn Abdul were a close third in the Novice 2A.
The show was an excellent warm up for the clubs October competition the following weekend. The day was off to a great start despite some rain giving concern in the lead up to the event.
Belinda Makintosh travelled from Cooma and Nikki Hall from Wolumla to judge.
Linda Stanley and Bonnie really hit their stride convincingly winning both Preparatory tests and much to Trish Hayes delight, the wins taking the combination out of competitive Preparatory.
Trish riding Yarramalong Waratah was runner up in both Preparatory tests.
Elissa Schuhkraft debuted with FSCDA riding the stylish Petrov for two third placings.
Unfortunately the club didn’t reckon on Hetty Munda from Moruya and Windalee Khoster entering the competition with the usual effect on the weather. All was going well in the Preliminary tests with Tanya Rutter and Artistry the last combination to ride the 1B.
Hetty mounted in the warm up area as Artistry entered the arena to the sound of thunder rumbling. By the time the first canter transition came the heavens had opened up much to Artistry’s dismay. After a quick word with the judge it was decided to pick up once the downpour subsided. Then down came the hail, a quick exit over the side of the arena and a dash for the cover of the cattle pavilion. The downpour unfortunately made the arenas too wet to ride resulting in the cancellation of the rest of the days tests.
